Европейский союз готов ввести санкции в отношении еще 15 российских и крымских официальных лиц, но отсрочил этот шаг, чтобы оценить, как повлияет на ситуацию женевская договоренность, пишет The Wall Street Journal со ссылкой на неназванных нескольких дипломатов.
14 апреля ЕС договорился о расширении списка российских и крымских чиновников, чьи активы в ЕС заморозят, а визы аннулируют, но не уточнил, сколько человек следует добавить к санкционному списку. "Во время консультаций в Брюсселе на прошлой неделе чиновники ЕС пришли к соглашению о дополнительных 15 именах", - пишет газета. Но, поскольку в Женеве стороны договорились о шагах для деэскалации кризиса, ЕС решил отсрочить расширение санкционного списка.
По словам дипломатов, ЕС скоро изучит ситуацию и решит, медлить с новыми санкциями дальше или нет. "Это может означать пересмотр отсрочки через несколько дней", - говорится в статье.
Кого коснутся новые санкции дипломаты не сообщили, источники только отметили, что среди 15 лиц - несколько крымских чиновников.
"ЕС также начал подготовительную работу над новой фазой гораздо более широких экономических санкций на случай, если Москва еще более обострит напряженность", - подытожило издание.
